About the author and the imprint
Jordan Hale comes from a tech and philosophy background. The book grew out of a personal project — stepping in to help a family member with Alzheimer's manage accounting, paperwork, and estate planning before the disease made the work too hard to share. What that project revealed was that the legal and administrative side of supporting an aging parent — and eventually settling an estate — is one of the most disorienting things adult children ever do.
Plato Press is a small imprint with one working principle: be useful. Books here are short, plain-spoken, and built around the moment a reader is actually in — not the moment someone calmer might be in later.
